Senior SAP Functional Consultant

The Senior SAP Functional Consultant is a key liaison between the Business Analyst and application development. The role is responsible for determining SAP design and configuration solutions that translate business needs into development requirements. This individual will be responsible for requirements planning and management; elicit, analyze, and validate requirements for new or existing processes, policies, and information systems. Understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals on time and within budget. Provides technical support to business users and other IT teams as required.

Responsibilities

• Work on production support to ensure current SAP production environment is working to support business needs, including month, quarter, and yearend financial reporting.
• Work with Business Analysts and Developers to assess current technical capabilities, propose technical solutions for business requirements, and translate them into technical requirements.
• Deliverables are functional specifications and integrated design specifications.
• Work closely with the BA team in developing the test strategy (UAT) and relevant application areas to test
• Unit Testing and supporting the testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results.
• Adhere to existing processes including the system development life cycle & project management methodology, architecture.
• Contribute to project plans by participating in scoping and estimating design and configuration effort for proposed projects.
• Communicate project status, provide timely escalation of issues to the Project managers.
• Work with internal teams to identify business issues and/or enhancements.
• Provide highly innovative solutions that drive process improvements with available hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
• Work with BA Team to facilitate business requirements gathering process (SAP blueprinting)
• Work with other Functional leads to understand cross functional solutions and impact on Projects and support.
• Overnight support for end of day and beginning of day issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in financial industry is required, preferably banking.
• Experience in deposits demand and time deposits and registered savings plan
• 5+ year experience in SAP Banking Services 8.0 / 9.0, deposit management module and PR payment engine
• 5+ years’ experience with SAP projects.
• 2+ years’ experience as functional lead in SAP project
• Banking deposit liability and lifecycle experience
• Experience taking ownership and building a functional area.
• SAP Deposit 8.0 and 9.0 certified
• SDLC project experience participating in blue printing and configuration.
• Defect Management experience for Postproduction Support
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing easy integration with other functional consultants and team members.

This is a 12 month remote or hybrid contract based in downtown Toronto.
